"Much of the logic of planning and designing our cities, to this day, has been born purely from a visual perspective," states Prof. Zhou Rong from the Department of Architecture. Underscoring the need for more inclusive urban designs, he uses the Pingshan Performing Arts Center in Shenzhen as an example, where both the interior and the exterior are designed for inclusivity, allowing even those who can't afford the tickets to enjoy the space.
